Giuseppe Zanotti x Be@rbrick - Two leaders of design and innovation come together in a new collectible

To celebrate the 2023 edition of the Be@rbrick summer event in Macau, Giuseppe Zanotti, the luxury Italian footwear brand, has been invited by Be@rbrick’s parent company, Japan’s Medicom Toy, to create a one-of-a-kind design of the inimitable robot-inspired, bear-shaped toy. A true collector’s item, Be@rbrick, with its iconic bear-shaped figure adorned with various pop culture and artistic collaborations, has defied the definition of a toy — becoming a beloved and influential staple within the fashion and design world. For the House’s iteration — making its debut this summer — designer Giuseppe Zanotti, used glossy black as the base, adorning the figure with contrast silver ears and paws. Recalling the House’s use of strass in every collection, he then created a micro illustration of crystals, artistically applied across the face and feet. The House’s signature finds home on the front of the toy while its logo stretches down the back.
“More than just a toy, Be@rbrick is symbol of modern design, interwoven across culture, fashion, art and music,” says Giuseppe Zanotti. “For my edition, I wanted to create an object that aligned with my design ethos—playful and of-the-moment, but also sophisticated and glamourous.” Available in three sizes —100, 400 (sold as a set) and the super large 1000, the Giuseppe Zanotti bespoke Be@rbrick will make its debut on July 31st, during the toy’s summer experiential in Macau.
For the 5th year of this mega event, Medicom Toy will stage an interactive exhibit at the Galaxy Macau. Featuring an art workshop, art forum, celebrity collaborations and a multi-sensory art installation, the event is one of summer’s most sought-after RSVPs. “Be@rbrick is one of the world’s most recognizable characters,” says Zanotti. “It’s an honor to be part of its history and to continue to share the Giuseppe Zanotti aesthetic in innovative and relevant mediums.”
